Coffee mornings and events organised by Sunderland Parent Carer Forum.

Due to the Covid-19 crisis, and in line with government guidelines, all face-to-face coffee mornings and events have been cancelled or postponed until at least the beginning of September (the start of the new school year … hopefully … ).

We still want to keep in touch with everyone, so have purchased a licensed version of Zoom to enable us to have virtual meet-ups.  The licensed version of Zoom is very secure, and all the issues Zoom had were with the free version.

We realise virtual meetings can be scary for first time users, but if you ever face time, then this is pretty much the same, only with more people.  You don’t need to be on camera, you can join the meeting with audio only, and we don’t care if the kids are making a noise or shouting (aka being kids) in the background.  You don’t need any fancy devices – as long as it connects to the internet you can use a mobile phone, tablet or computer.

The Zoom website has lot’s of useful guides, and we have broken some of the guidance down to make it easier for you as to what device you would use.

Children and young people with sensory processing issues often need space, movement (sometimes in the extreme) and an opportunity to use or block out senses in different environments. At times when we are restricted to home more than is ideal for sensory needs, this webinar will explain what happens in crisis; ideas to calm and opportunities to sue sensory information in ordinary homes to achieve wellbeing.
If sensory issues are creating stress in your household, take opportunity to understand what’s happening and find some strategies that will help you to cope.
After registering HERE, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
